West Sussex Care Accolades 2015. Winning Awards!
We were delighted to be shortlisted in the West Sussex Care Accolades (http//westsussexpartnersincare.org/care-accolades) and invited to the award ceremony in Arundel.
Accompanied by staff and one of our residents Clare, we enjoyed a delicious lunch overlooking the lakes at The Arundel Wetlands Centre enjoying the antics of the wildfowl and the arrival of a flock of Canada geese. This was followed by presentations from local sponsors. We had been shortlisted for both Care Home Manager Of The Year and Ancillary Worker Award.
Ancillary Worker Award –
Julie was delighted to receive the runner-up award and having worked together for over 20 years, no one can deserve this award more. Julie had been nominated by both residents and staff and described as “a treasure” “our angel” and a “shining example”. No one goes further in providing compassion, care and natural empathy. Julie remembers everything, the little things that make huge differences to the residents lives making them feel valued and special. Often seen giggling and laughing with residents whilst helping them with their makeup or collecting or finding a mislaid cardigan, if you need to know anything ask Julie. She is always going that extra mile paying attention to the smallest detail providing the very best in personalised care. A huge congratulations to Julie and Well Done!.
Care Manager of the Year Award-
We were absolutely delighted that Nada won the Care Manager Of The Year award, again having worked with Nada for over 20 years she truly is unique and one in a million. Working tirelessly to provide outstanding care for our residents and support for our staff she was nominated by a resident Clare who wrote ” whenever we have a problem or worried about something without hesitation we know that we can go to Nada. She will listen carefully, cry or laugh or both – with us. She is our friend and offers all that a great friend does for one another”. Truly a great manager, she is indeed a worthy winner.
I congratulate both staff for their awards but as Nada says ” It is a team effort and what makes The Shelley unique and special is the entire team of dedicated staff. They are our greatest asset”.
So, on our return there was no better reason than to open the bubbly and celebrate in style with the staff and residents on a great day. Well done to all staff.
